June 2015 Card Group Projects

We got together on Thursday for our June card group meeting and a very happy, relaxed afternoon was had by all with lots of merriment and laughter!  As per usual, I made three cards for the ladies to make.

This is our sixth card in the set we're making to go in a box.  The background inking was done with Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick distress inks.

Here's the inside of the card and the envelope.

This next card uses a newly acquired Penny Black stamp set called 'Every Happiness'.  The foliage images, burlap strip and blue, green and brown combo make it an ideal masculine card.  I stamped the Very Vanilla panel with a weave pattern background stamp in Crumb Cake ink, inked the edges with Early Espresso ink, glued that to the Lost Lagoon card base, adhered the burlap strip and stamped the sentiment.  A bit odd I know - but I love the smell of the burlap!  I used Lost Lagoon, Pear Pizzazz and Baked Brown Sugar inks to stamp the three tiles and I stamped the SU! 'French Script'  background stamp over all three tiles in Early Espresso ink.  After fussy cutting the tiles I inked the edges with Early Espresso ink and popped up each tile.  I punched Early Espresso circles and stacked three together for dimension before gluing the stacks of circles to the card.

Here's a closer look at the overstamped tiles - I do love a bit of layered stamping!

The last card is based on this one I made back in November 2014 - I just tweaked the design a bit.  I glued a Rich Razzleberry panel to the front of a 5 1/4" white card base.  I stamped the flourish, label shape and sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White CS and die cut the cross stitched rectangle plus a larger Pistachio Pudding cross stitched rectangle layer.  I used my newest toy - the SU! Banner Triple punch - to make the three flagged banners.  This tool allows you to cut three widths of flagged banners (1", 1 1/2" and 2") using just the one punch - ingenious!  For this card I cut three 1" wide banners, embossed them with a swirly embossing folder, glued them in place and adhered the stamped panel over the top.  I then used Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp the large flower and I inked the smaller flower with Blackberry Bliss ink and stamped out four flowers without re-inking to get the different shades.  I punched out the flowers, snipped between the petals, shaped each flower and adhered them to the card - popping up the larger flower.  I placed a rhinestone jewel on each flower centre to finish the front.

Here's the inside of the card and the envelope with another sentiment and some elegant Mossy Meadow stamped swirls.
