Paper Pieced Bird & Bauble Merry Christmas Card

The lovely Woodware 'Little Christmas Bird' stamp was added to my stash a few weeks ago.  I think it's perfect for paper piecing and as I was in the mood for that I went into my craft room and had a happy time stamping and snipping!

I inked the image stamps with VersaMark and stamped on various pieces of CS and patterned paper, heat embossing each image with Early Espresso embossing powder.  After a lot of fussy cutting I pieced the images and added them to the card front, popping up the bird, bauble and holly.  I used a gold gel pen to colour the top of the bauble and highlighted the bauble, berries and bird eye with a white gel pen.  I popped up the sentiment and snowflake and added a rhinestone to the centre.

Here's the inside and the envelope flap.

CAS Lace & Bow Gift Card Holder - HOC 'Add A Bow' Challenge

What a wonderful time away we had in Dorset last week, lovely weather, beautiful scenery, delicious food and fabulous company!  Sadly, as soon as I returned home I got poorly and have been feeling yucky for the past few days.  That means no crafting for me in over a week so I've been itching to get inky but not feeling perky enough to make anything other than simple and quick!  When I saw the House of Cards 'Add a Bow' challenge I decided I'd make a CAS card for the challenge - perfect to ease me back into crafting again.

Bows often make me think of gifts so I decided I would make a gift card holder.  Lace is a great accompaniment to a bow so after die cutting the ornate card shape I stamped my new SU! 'I Love Lace' stamp onto the card front.  I die cut and embossed the ribbon and bow shapes, attached the bow to the ribbon strip and finished off with a circle dazzler.

Using the card front die I cut a piece of white CS, stamped the lace onto it, trimmed it to size, applied glue just at the bottom and sides and adhered it inside the card so it forms a pocket that I can slide a gift card or money into.  I stamped the sentiment and added a line above the pocket with a black marker.

The envelope front was decorated simply with some stamped lace and a black marker line.

Just some simple die cutting and stamping but that's me done in for the day, I'm now off to slob on the sofa and watch Netflix!

Supplies:
Stamps: SU! 'I Love Lace' background stamp, SU! 'Made for You' set
CS: IndigoBlu white Perfect Stamping Card, SU! Basic Black
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, SU! Basic Black marker
Tools: Sizzix 'Card Fronts A2, Eyelet & Ornate' Bigx XL die, Creative Expressions Finishing Touches 'Classic 3D Bow' die set
Embellishments & accessories: Creative Expressions Small Circle Dazzler, glue dot

Buds For You Card

My SU! order arrived a few days ago and I was itching to use some new goodies - I managed to use my new Hey There Buds, I Love Lace and Hello There stamps plus my new Island Indigo cotton ribbon all on this one card!  This card went to Jan and Alan to say thank you for Owen's birthday gift.

I love the floral image but I'm not all that keen on the 'Hey There' wording so I cut that off before mounting the stamp on the wood block - I have kept it though just in case I do want to stamp it at some point!  I inked the stamp with Old Olive, Island Indigo and Night of Navy markers, stamped onto Whisper White CS and die cut the label shape.  I cut a larger label from Island Indigo CS, pierced the pattern around the edge and popped it up on the front of the Night of Navy A6 sized card.  I added the Indigo cotton ribbon - which ties beautifully! - and popped up the sentiment circle element.

I've featured the I Love Lace background stamp on the inside of the card and on the front of the envelope - I love it, it's gorgeous!

Bubble Wrap & Blooms Hello Card

My friend Wendy wanted a Minion card kit so I made the kit up for her and popped it in the post.  I made this hello note card to accompany the kit.  I inked the Bubble Wrap background stamp with Bundled Sage Distress Ink, dabbed Peeled Paint Distress Ink randomly over the top with a sponge dauber and stamped the image onto the front of a white A6 card base.  For the pink blooms I inked a flower stamp from the SU! Mixed Bunch set with Pretty in Pink ink and added Strawberry Slush ink around the edges with a sponge dauber.  I stamped three Strawberry Slush Petite Petals flowers and punched all the blooms out.  On the larger flowers I  snipped between the petals and added a bit of shaping.  I glued the small flowers on and added pale green iridescent gems.  I stamped the sentiment, cut it out with an oval punch, inked the edges with Peeled Paint ink and popped up the oval.  I popped up all three blooms too.  I love pink and green together, it always seems a happy combo to me!

Here's the inside and the envelope.  For the inside I stamped three flowers in Strawberry Slush ink without re-inking to get different shades of pink - I love how that looks!

Brick House Sunshine & Smiles Card

My friend Lesley told me about Impression Obsession dies - oh my word, they have some lovely designs!  I just had to have the Brick House die and this is the first card I've made with it.  I die cut the house and extras in thick white CS and embossed the shapes to bring out the detail.  I lightly brayered Antique Linen Distress Ink over the house and also inked the edges of all the shapes with a sponge dauber.  I added patterned paper behind the windows and door and I popped up the roof part and trim, the windows and the door.  I tore Lucky Limeade CS for grass and glued that to a panel of Soft Sky CS.  I stamped the sentiment, punched a circle for the sun and sponged the edges.  To complete the card front I added leafy sprigs, flowers and butterflies.

Here's a close up view of the house - I love the embossed details!

Here's the inside and the envelope.

Sunshine and smiles is what I'm looking forward to for the next few days.  Owen and I are spending some time away in a holiday cottage in the Blackmoor Vale area of Dorset with our fabulous friends Debbie and Mike.  Roll on peace and quiet (well, some anyway!), stunning views and cream teas with scones, jam and clotted cream!  You can still pop back to visit though as I've scheduled a few blog posts for the time I'm away.
